First, it was taken as an April Fool's Day joke,
Nothing the mention, Elon Musk's Twitter poll on edit option, with more than 3 million "yse" votes:
But then Twitter recently says they've been working on a module that will let users edit their tweets.
It seems the feature would be added to Twitter Blue as the last year's limited, 30-seconds-edit feature was announced.

What is Twitter Blue?
Twitter Blue is a new monthly subscription tier that grants its users exclusive access to various premium features for a modest charge.
For now, it is only available on Twitter for iOS in Canada and Australia. According to Twitter, the Android release and additional regions will be available very soon.
Just to eliminate the confusion, free Twitter is not going anywhere. Twitter Blue is an additional subscription to access some additional features to provide you more creative options to enhance your Twitter experience.
Twitter Blue subscribers have access to Bookmark Folders, Reader Mode, and an Undo Tweet option. And Twitter intends to provide more additional premium features for its subscribers in the future.
But for now, let's have a look at what Twitter Blue offers to its subscribers at the moment.
- Bookmark Folders: This feature helps you to arrange and group your bookmarks into folders to get organized for faster discovery. If you use the Twitter Bookmarks function frequently, you will surely appreciate this new feature. If you're someone who likes to look back over old tweets, this may be a very handy tool for you.
- Reader Mode: This new feature basically helps you to read long Twitter threads easily. It effectively removes all of the extraneous "noise" and displays the conversation as a news article.
- Undo Tweet: With Undo Tweet, you can retract a Tweet after you have sent it but before your audience on Twitter sees it. As you click the undo button, you will go back to the tweet composer to edit tweets or delete them for good.
- When you enable this option, you'll get a countdown that shows you how much time is left until your 30-second Tweet Undo period ends and your Tweet goes live on Twitter. You can change this countdown period to 5, 10, 20 or 60 seconds on the Twitter Blue Settings menu.
You will still have the option to directly send tweets without checking the preview with Send Now option.
Quite recently, Twitter gives users new hope for the editing of tweets, with Kayvon Beykpour, Product Lead, asking the question in a tweet poll.
Twitter has also announced that Twitter Blue subscribers will access customizable Twitter app icons and in-app color themes.
Moreover, the Twitter Blue subscription comes with a dedicated customer support service. I am sure you know how hard to get in touch with customer support service immediately for most social media platforms. If you are a heavy Twitter user, this service will definitely be a life-saver feature.
Having said all the benefits, these come with a price. Twitter Blue is a paid subscription service. According to Twitter, Blue will cost CAD 3.49 in Canada and AUD 4.49 for subscribers from Australia.
How to apply to Twitter Blue?
Once Twitter Blue is available in your region, you will see a dedicated sub-menu for Twitter Blue on the left-hand side menu. At the end of the menu, find the Twitter Blue option and click it to subscribe.
Twitter Blue subscription is priced regionally, and you will make your payments monthly. If you want to check the pricing information of your region first, it will be accessible on the Twitter Blue Menu.
As it is a monthly subscription service, you can always pause or cancel your Twitter Blue subscription. In that case, your subscription will be canceled or paused at the end of your billing cycle.
How to edit Tweets
We all know that Twitter doesn't offer an edit Tweets button. Once your tweet is live, you don't have any option to edit tweets. Twitter Blue doesn't also offer an "edit Tweets" button, but with Undo Tweet feature, you can check the preview of your tweet before your Twitter audience can see it.
Twitter also announced regarding this confusion. They have clarified that Undo Tweet is not an edit tweets feature. Undo Tweet lets you go back and edit Tweets that haven't yet been broadcast to the world on Twitter.
When the Undo time expires, the Tweet becomes publicly visible, and you can choose to keep it or remove it as you usually would on Twitter. So, tweets that have already been made public are not editable.
Even though it is not exactly an edit tweets feature, checking your tweet's preview allows you to edit tweets before they are publicly accessible. You can have up to 60 seconds to check your tweet in the preview format with Twitter Blue.
But Twitter Blue is not your only option if you want to access this preview feature. With Circleboom Publish, you can have unlimited time to check and edit tweets in the post preview format.
Further, you can enhance your tweets on a built-in Canva add-on with Circleboom Publish. Even though Twitter is primarily a text-based social media network, visuals play an important part in the engagement.
People are three times more likely to engage with tweets with media content like pictures, and videos according to Twitter.
So, adding engaging visuals to your tweets can help you increase your awareness and engagement with your audience.
Also, Circleboom Publish provides you the best image sizes for all social media platforms so that you don't need to check the suggested image sizes every time you create a post.
Circleboom Publish is an all-in-one social media management tool that helps you to manage multiple social media accounts on a single dashboard. And it offers you many excellent features such as post preview, scheduling tweets, creating post queues for your social media accounts, curating relevant and trending content for higher engagement, and linking your favorite RSS feeds to your accounts.
Another way to avoid mistakes in your tweets is to prepare them beforehand! With Circleboom Publish, you can create, control and edit tweets with its schedule feature.
Once your tweet is ready, you can schedule it for a future date and time.
You can monitor your scheduled tweets altogether on a single dashboard to see the big picture. If you want to change and edit tweets, you can use the "edit" button to make your arrangements.
Twitter has always paid attention to the expectation of its users. They keep upgrading their services and enhancing their users' experiences with new features.
Many Twitter users all around the globe have been longing for a tool that would allow them to edit tweets for a long time. Even though it is not exactly an edit tweets feature, it looks like the Undo Tweet option of Twitter Blue will create an opportunity to edit tweets in the post preview format.
But you don't have to subscribe to Twitter Blue to edit tweets in the post preview format. Circleboom Publish also provides you a chance to see the preview of your tweets before you post them.
What's more, you can schedule your tweets beforehand to monitor and edit tweets before Circleboom auto-posts them on your Twitter.
